Welcome to new subscribers - happy to have you along for the journey. Would love for you to leave a comment and introduce yourself! Maggy and I are enjoying some time in Arkansas. I was overdue for some time away and it has been perfect. We have no plans, no schedule to keep, and it’s raining today. Our rental has a tin roof and oak trees towering above it - so we get a little jump everytime an acorn lands! It’s just been a great few days with a few days to go. I have a lot of pictures, so I’ll be sharing those, but not all in one post!
Edgemont is basically just a community, not a town or city. The people here have been very friendly. Evidently, the local grocery was in the same building as a Dollar General, but then DG built a new store (surprise!) and the grocery expanded into that space. We bumped into several locals who were a little grumbly about not knowing where anything is now that the store has much more space. I told one lady that I was from out of town so I didn’t know where anything was either. We both laughed. That’s the big news from Edgemont this week.
I noticed on Google Maps that Sandiff road made it’s way along a tributary of Greers Ferry Lake, so Mags and I decided to take a look. It was a long loop, mostly narrow, mostly gravel, but with a big payoff in terms of scenery. It had been a cloudy day but the sun kept showing up and it was just a great ride through the country. I kept watching for wildlife, but I only saw this one little doe. She just stood still and let us take her picture.
We ended the drive passing by a horse farm that overlooked a beautiful valley with mountains in the background. The pictures really do not do it justice.
The Autumn colors are so beautiful. We just keep staring out of the back window of our rental at the beauty right outside of the door.
Today it is forecast to rain all day. Perfect for napping, reading, relaxing, and you can believe we have snacks in the house!

Tonight is the Hunter’s Moon. If you live on the other side of the world from me, there is a lunar eclipse tonight. For me, there may be cloud cover. So I’m glad that I captured this image last night.
Hope you are having a great weekend! Thanks again to all who left comments on my anniversary post! Now back to relaxing and enjoying the cooling air from the cold front that is bringing us showers of blessing.
Very enjoyable post. Why did you choose that community for your vacation? I love getaways in small towns or communities and am interested to hear how you chose the way you did.
Thank you so much John, what a lovely surprise! I've sent over an email, but it may have landed in your junk/spam folder—my emails often do—so do check there too.
Grace and Peace,
