It’s true that some of the exchanges I’ve seen recently have been charged with vitriol. (Christian vs Christian). That was the status quo growing up where we went to church. It’s a big thing to unlearn. It does take effort to make the decision to not judge (or argue) other folks. Good points.
I wrote an article a million years ago called 'Christians Stop Arguing with Idiots' and I covered some of the same ground but was probably less gracious than you about it.
I read a post by a lady who said she cut out all the negative people in her life. After she realized she had cut out most people, she finally began to think maybe she was the negative person. A look in the mirror is needed at times.
Good stuff, John! You mention cancel culture. And rightly so. In times past, many of us could have agreed to disagree about various things but maintain the relationship. However, it seems that some of us now believe disagreement is the opportunity for a “door slam.” The relationship ends and society is no better. Sadly, it’s the “Us versus Them” mentality.
Excellent article. You are the man!!
Thank you Travis!
I appreciate your words on this topic so much. Thank you.
Thank you Judy!

Thanks Laurie… it’s def something I’ve had to unlearn / work on.

Yes indeed…that look in the mirror can be painful, but it is needful. Thanks Carolyn.

Blessed are the peacemakers.
