It’s time for the Sunday Night Check-In! Welcome! Especially to eight new subscribers that joined us in the past week! Glad you’re here and invite you to say howdy in the comments! Thanks for joining me for a few moments to tell you a few things going on in my world. I’d love to hear from you in the comments!
This is a secret you don’t have to keep! The cat is being let out of the bag right now! My latest book, A Sinner’s Guide to Grace: Good News for the Wayward and Broken is FREE starting at midnight tonight (PDT) through Thursday. Get your free ebook and tell your friends about it. I’m not going to promote this by buying any advertising - just word of mouth! Maybe we can bounce it up to number one and more people can find it! I would love it if some of you would rate it and leave reviews on Amazon and Goodreads - that would help me immensely! Right now it only has four ratings and two reviews on Amazon! Whether you go that extra step or not, the book is free and I’d love for you to share that information in anyway that you can.
I meant to mention something last week, but I let it get by me. Recently my friend Judy gave me an amazing gift! It was a total surprise! A framed photo of the main cast of my favorite show, LOST. Not only that, but it is signed by the cast as well! Thank you Judy! I love that and I am so grateful for it!
This week we are traveling to spend some time with Grandaughter Claire. The family time together will be a blessing for sure.
FORSYTHE
At Forsythe Church of Christ this morning we continued our study of Holy Habits by talking about Brotherly Kindness. There is only one more sermon in this series - but next Sunday will be a Honduras Report from Daniel Kirkendall. Daniel and the team are in Honduras as this is being written. So, we will conclude this series the Sunday after that.
READING
I wish I could remember who suggested the book, The List That Changed My Life by Olivia Beirne. I laughed all the way through this book. It is a situational comedy driven by a relationship between two sisters. I wouldn’t call it “Christian” fiction, but it is a pretty clean read and I thought it was super. So, I bought Beirne’s new book, Three Nights in Italy. We can always use a smile. In my Bible reading group I am behind, but will catch up on 1 Corinthians and then 2 Chronicles.
WATCHING
Aside from ALONE, we are not watching much. The other night I chose a movie to watch. We got through about 15 minutes of it. So I picked another one. About 30 minutes into that one, I was done. I’m not a good picker! We did watch UNTAMED on Netflix and it was pretty good. Kind of hard to watch as it dealt with the loss of a child, but the story overall was interesting.
LISTENING
Matt Maher is always dependable for a heart-reaching song.
Who is this Jesus? Who is this man who seen me at my worst and loves me as I am? Who is this Jesus who calls my name? Come and follow him and leave behind my shame. If this is what mercy looks like, if this is where freedom lives, I want more of who Jesus is.

YOU DID IT!
You made it to the end of the Sunday Night Check-In! The night owl has done his work. Take care, friends. Work hard, rest well, and stay connected. The world needs you.
Sadly, I missed the free book. Downloaded a sample of the List That Changed my Life. Will give it a read. I started watching Untamed a few weeks ago. The trailer made it seem like a scary movie but I was pleasantly surprised. I love all the park scenery and seeing some of the goings on behind the scenes with squatters. Also loved the chickadee photos!
From one sinner saved by grace to another- thank you for sharing this Good News in a world filled with bad news. The faith of Jesus living in us through the power of the Holy Spirit conquers all fear and draws us near our Abba/Father now and forever.
