Barnstorming!
The Sunday Night Check-In for November 16th
Hello Friends, it’s time for the Sunday Night Check-In. I hope your weekend went well and that you have a great week ahead. Photos in this edition of the Check-In are from the archives - barn photos I enjoyed taking on our travels!
This past week, my book, Merry Christmas to a Broken Heart, was available for .99. Thank you to everyone who bought the book, sent it to a #1 spot on a couple of Amazon Kindle categories, and who might leave a kind review! It’s still a great buy for $2.99 for the ebook. Paperback and hardcover available as well. This past week, we traveled to Cleveland, Mississippi, to see Maggy’s sister and to refresh the flowers on John Robert’s gravestone, as well as those on Maggy’s parents.
FORSYTHE
Today I presented the second of two lessons focused on Grace. Both of these were messages I delivered at the Calhoun Prayer Workshop in October. They were received very well both at the workshop and at Forsythe. In the next few weeks, we will visit some of the major prophets, with sermons from Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel. At the end of the year, we will begin our journey through John’s Gospel. Today I noted the eighth anniversary of our Associate Minister, Daniel Kirkendall, which will occur this week. He and his family are a huge blessing to Forsythe church. Having known Daniel most of his life, I feel very blessed to work alongside him in the ministry here.
READING
I did what I said I was not going to do. I highly anticipated the new release from Louise Penny, The Black Wolf. I wanted to read it slowly, enjoying the story at a pace that would let me take in all of the rich detail that she provides. However, the story moved so fast and was so surprising along the way that I gobbled it up in two days. In our Bible plan this week, we are reading Micah, 2 Thessalonians, Nahum, 2 Peter, and Habakkuk! Whew!
RETURN OF THE POLL!
Due to no demand and minimal participation, I bring back the poll!
LISTENING
I always enjoy the Redeemed Quartet. This rendition of Wafaring Stranger is a winner.
THE HOLY LENS
Tomorrow on The Holy Lens, we begin a new week of pondering John’s Gospel. We are starting off the week in John 15.
Join me on my journey through John’s Gospel on The Holy Lens, 5 days per week.

I took your poll, but there is no spot for Canadians as we have our Thanksgiving mid-October. Our Guage here is after Remembrance Day. Having a baby in the house makes it extra special this year so I told my daughter we will put up the tree this weekend coming. First, I have to move a bunch of plants!
I read A Brutal Telling in record time and downloaded Bury the Dead. I read Bury the Dead in two days!😂
