Rebound
The Sunday Night Check-In for April 26, 2026

It’s time for the Sunday Night Check-in! Welcome, new subscribers! I appreciate you joining me for a few minutes to check in on the week and say howdy. Last week’s post was sent through the haze of fever and illness from cellulitis. This week I’m on the rebound…. maybe feeling 75% better. I’ll take it. Thanks for the prayers and well-wishes; they are much appreciated.
I wanted to tell you, my favorite readers, DO NOT BUY STILLWELL CROSSING. That’s because on May 2, the ebook will go on sale for .99 for the first time! Of course, if you want a paperback, go right ahead! Stillwell Crossing, Book Two, is in the hands of my editor. Book Three is almost finished. I loved writing these and hope you enjoy reading them!
AT FORSYTHE
This morning at Forsythe, I finished the series of sermons through John’s Gospel. It was a joy to revisit this great book! The sermon was… meh. I was pretty low-energy this morning, still recovering. But if you want to read it or hear it, Audio and Notes are HERE. Next Sunday we look forward to honoring our high school senior. A new sermon series is coming, perhaps starting next week. Perhaps the week after.
READING
This week, I finished Nick Pirog’s science fiction thriller, Crammed. People have been waking up inside a giant Costco, only it’s not a real Costco. You cannot escape. And it’s become a dark web sensation, reality TV like never seen before! This is the first book in the series, and it ends on a cliffhanger! But it was a fascinating book to read.
I’m nearly through with Light on the Mount: God’s Love to Honduras. Traveling teacher/missionary Faith Frey recounts her adventures and experiences teaching school in Honduras and serving a church there. We have a team headed to Honduras, and some of the things I read about here were familiar because of that. I have enjoyed reading this.
In our Bible reading group, we have finished Matthew and entered Judges. After that, Romans.
Although many Substacks have paid subscriptions, my posts are always free! I do have a Hope Remains Gift Registry if you’d like to show some love! Check it out HERE if you are interested. If not, I still love ya!
