It’s time for the Sunday Night Check-In! We have a few new subscribers, so welcome to you! That’s 758 subscribers, not that anyone is counting. Thanks to everyone who bought A Holy Lens, the new collaboration of prayer and scripture that became available last week. It won’t find its way to the New York Times Bestseller list, but it hopefully will find its way into the hands of anyone who could use a prayer refresher. As I write this week’s newsletter, I am sipping on a delicious cup of Vanilla Macadamia Nut coffee that my friend Vera bought for me from the Hope Remains Wish List. I had forgotten it was on there, but I’m remembering it now as I enjoy a hot cup of flavored coffee! Thank you, Vera!
I’m reading about the massive bird migration happening now. You can see a real-time migration map that is pretty amazing HERE. I’d love to see some birds that I normally do not see every day, like that rose-breasted grosbeak above. A few other birds that come through during this time sometimes are…-

I’m so happy for the cool(er) weather. Tonight’s full moon is called the “Blood Moon”. According to internet experts, “a blood moon is the reddish appearance of the moon during a total lunar eclipse, which happens when the Earth passes between the sun and the moon, casting a shadow that causes the moon to look red.” If you catch it early, you can see the unusual coloring. FORSYTHE
This morning, I continued my series called EQUIPPED with lesson #4 on being an encourager (notes and audio here). We also began our GriefShare and DivorceCare support groups for the next few months. This month, we are collecting items for Grace Place Ministries. Any toiletries are welcome, including razors, deodorant, and soap. We also collect some basic food items for some families with children who struggle. If you’d like to help with that collection or any other Forsythe needs, our Amazon Wish List is available (Amazon Wish List) for your convenience.
WATCHING
I haven’t watched anything super great this week. I’m looking forward to The Paper on the Peacock streaming service. It looks like an attempt to duplicate the genius of The Office by the same people who made that show great! We shall see. We did watch the available episodes of The Terminal List: Dark Wolf on Amazon Prime. It is pretty rugged, but a very interesting story. You can’t watch it all yet, so you bingers will have to wait until all the episodes drop!
LISTENING
Every once in a while I hear a song I really like, but rarely do I hear a song that really moves me. This one moved me. Beautiful.
READING
I mentioned last week that I’m an advance reader of Andy Slade’s The Prophet of Lost Souls. This exciting thriller was really a page-turner. Mr. Slade did an excellent job of weaving a tale that kept growing deeper and twisting just beyond my ability to guess what was going to happen next. It was a good mix of technology, corporate greed, and religious zeal. These memorable characters might show up in a next volume, but the story resolves and I felt it was a great read. It will be available on Amazon in mid-October, but is it can be pre-ordered. I’m almost through with "Born Crucified (Moody Classics)" by L. E. Maxwell. It is a solid read, but not an easy one. It has been a blessing. In our Bible reading program we are in the book of Job.
