I hope you are having an enjoyable Labor Day Weekend. Sunday afternoon I drifted out to Black Bayou. It seems like I take the same pictures every time I’m out there. But as the seasons get closer to a change, the landscape shifts with the passage of time. I timed my visit to get some sunset pictures from the pier, and I was able to do so, but the first creature to greet me was this lovely great blue heron! Stationed like a guardian at the boat ramp and did not fly away when I stopped to take the pictures!
It wasn’t long before I came across a little furry fellow I met a few weeks ago. I think his name is Leo and his owner is Robert. Names escape me. He is a Great Pyranese and Golden Retriever mix, about 5 months old. So friendly and beautiful. I loved his expressions.
It really was a hot afternoon but there was lots of beauty (and some bugs!). I ran across another photographer that posts in our Facebook group (North Louisiana Camera Club and Friends). I appreciate the encouragement of that group, although my photographs aren’t nearly the level of some of theirs. It’s a great group to visit and join!
Ah, yes, the sunset pictures. When I headed out to Black Bayou there were lots of clouds in the sky, but they cleared out before sunset. Still, watching the sun head for it’s rest for the night is always beautiful.
What a blessing it is to have Black Bayou National Wildlife Refuge in our area. I’m grateful to everyone who has made it so accessible to everyone. I also enjoy the Friends of Black Bayou Facebook group. Lots of great photographers there as well.
Thanks for letting me share my visit to Black Bayou with you. If you liked these pictures, please click on the heart!
I enjoy all of your pics, John!!!
