I would have laughed at you if you had asked me five years ago if I would be wandering around Black Bayou NWR or riding up Moon Lake Road looking for wildlife to photograph. As I have said before, when Covid-19 became a reality and the world shut down for a bit, I knew I had to find a hobby that didn’t involve being around many people. I did a bit of research, studied my bank account, and bought a Canon SX70hs. Then, I started my trek through the ‘wilderness’ (don’t get the wrong idea - I’m not a fearless wanderer!).
I have discovered that I never tire of taking pictures of the same creatures and settings. I mean, how many photographs of egrets do I really need? And sunsets capture my attention. Then lately I have seen more deer than usual. I’ve even photographed some reptiles and arachnids and insects. On the gallery pictures, you can click on them if you want to see them bigger.
If I start posting the birds I’ve captured - well that will have to be another post. On today’s journey, the beautiful Maggy joined me. We saw some deer and some Whistling Ducks. I was interested that the duck bills on the ducklings were blue, but on the adults is bright orange.
I’ll probably keep taking pictures of the same things. I enjoy it and enjoy sharing them. One thing I’ve enjoyed photographing is the moon. So I’ll close with tonight’s moon, a waxing gibbous at 28%. Thanks for reading and taking some time with these pictures. If you liked them, please hit that heart and maybe share the post. Thanks!
Thank you for sharing. All of them were breathtaking.
They are all wonderful...esp the moon photo. Wow!
